Robert Guratzsch
Born in Germany, Robert was raised in the US where he lived until he met Joana. After the wedding he lived in Rio for 8 years, where he became a true carioca. Rum and beach were always on this oil field engineer's mind. Two years living in the Caribbean sealed his love for rum. In 2020 he decided to put his efforts into learning all he can about making the best quality spirit he can.
Joana Guratzsch
Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This yoga instructor is no stranger to the tropical feel and all things made from natural and pure ingredients. Life in the caribbean also thaught her to appreciate the taste of a good Mojito. She is joining her husband on this journey to help make RFG rum the best experience for those who drink it.
Matthew Barré
Matthew returned to Houston after a few years living in Trinidad, where the idea for a rum distillery came about. Originally from New Orleans, he was raised between the sugarcane fields and the city. As he's not one to sit still for long, he's either hanging out with friends, turning wrenches on his Land Cruiser or sampling the rum at a local bar.
